J: Seven Months

Tuesday, April 30, 2013

He:
...has his two bottom teeth.
...army crawls.
...has started eating solid food.
...grabs at everything.
...is his sister's #1 fan.
...knows how to work a crowd.
...thinks his name is "Pato."
...still loves nursing.
...and has been thisclose to getting a mohawk several times. I chicken out at the last second.

How To: Get Dirt in Your Diaper

Monday, April 29, 2013

Step 1: Find a nice comfy spot on the ground.
Step 2: Sift the dirt through your fingers. The looser the dirt, the better.
Step 3: Pour it all over your head. This works best if you have a full head of hair.
Step 4: Make sure your legs are completely covered in dirt to ensure it enters your diaper.

**Bonus points if you manage to eat the dirt without being found out. If you're caught, cry and look cute.

Wicked

Catch a show in the West End: check! C and I had not seen Wicked before, and it lived up to all the hype. I was humming the songs all the way home.

Westminster ll

Thursday, April 18, 2013

Today was our last full day in London, and we are so sad! I will miss this place so much, but it's time to go home, and I'm dying to get my babes back in their own room and in their own beds.

We are very lucky to have my in-laws join us for our last few days in England, and tomorrow we head to the Isle of Man. S hasn't stopped jabbering since the minute they walked into our flat. Not sure what wore them out more...the jet lag or S. My money is on the girl.

She remembered her Poppy immediately. And what great rides he gives.

In front of Westminster Abbey.

A family picture!

We took a tour...gorgeous inside and out.

Baby J getting loved on by Grammy.

Baby J...always a crowd pleaser.

Cheers!

Spring

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

Spring has finally decided to come to London. And boy, are we glad we got a glimpse of it before we leave.

I spy a cute little man and a cute little foot peeking out.

Best seat in the house!

How To: Properly Stick a Sticker

Monday, April 15, 2013

Step 1: Grab sticker.
Step 2: Place on paper (preferably one on top of another.)
Step 3: Use pointer finger to press all edges down firmly.
Step 4: Congratulate yourself!

Hyde Park

The weather reached *almost* 60 degrees, so we headed to Hyde Park after naps to check off another thing off our list. We brought along some lunch, which made everything pretty much perfect.

Multitasking at its finest.

Our little hoarder was in stick heaven.

Oyster cards are what are used as "tickets" on the tube. She knows exactly what to do with them and loves scanning our cards.

Abbey Road & Cannon Street

Sunday, April 14, 2013

"...One thing I can tell you is you got to be free."

Get our picture taken crossing Abbey Road: check! We didn't let a little ol' rain stop us from getting the shot, dangit.

Outside Abbey Road Studios.

Cutest Cannon boys!

King's Cross Station

Saturday, April 13, 2013

But, Hagrid, there must be a mistake. This says Platform 9 3/4. There's no such thing... is there?

Yes. I love Harry Potter. Sue me.

Naturally, visiting King's Cross Station was embarrassingly high on my list.

A note about the tube. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it because it is a people watcher's dream. So many personalities and it feels just so London. It's a great moment when you finally feel like you could switch lines without worrying you'll end up in the wrong place. The one thing I really really hate about the tube is that it is not stroller friendly! It is so rare to find a station with a lift. Today was our first time, and I almost took a picture of it just to document it. I've had to rely on the kindness of strangers to carry my stroller up and down stairs for me. I have been so impressed by how helpful people are here.
The key to riding the tube with this girl: snacks.
Waiting in line to get our picture taken at Platform 9 3/4. He is the smiliest baby.

Ta-da! They had scarves there to put on,  and we had a fun time playing along.

These shots are basically identical, except I had to post them to show Pato's face. So cute! He kills me!

S had a BLAST running around the station. Do I sense a future Harry Potter fan, hmm?

Tonight, we are checking off another thing on my list: watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone while IN London. Flying my nerd flag high, people.
